Former Union Health Secretary Preeti Sudan has been appointed as the new Chairperson of the Union Public Service Commission. She will replace Manoj Soni. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is a constitutional body of the Government of India that selects civil servants for various posts in various ministries and departments of the government.

Preeti Sudan is the second woman to become the President of UPSC. Preeti Sudan will take over as the President of Union Public Service Commission on 1 August, her term will last till April 2025, when she will turn 65.

The lizard with bent claws is found in the forests of Namdapha Tiger Reserve and Kamalang Tiger Reserve. They come out at night for hunting.
