Ministry of Mines of India released mineral related data for the first quarterly of FY 2024-25.
According to the report, primary aluminium production in FY 2024-25 (April-June) registered a growth of 1.2% as compared to the same period last year, with which India has become the second largest aluminium manufacturer country in the world.
Aluminum production was 10.28 Lakh Tonnes (LT) in FY 2023-24 (April-June), which has increased to 10.43 lakh tonnes in FY 2024-25 (April-June)

The Central Potato Research Institute (CPRI) Shimla has sent the potato Kufri Jamunia to the Central Variety Release Committee (CVRC) Delhi for notification. As soon as it is approved, the new variety of potato will come in vegetable markets across the country. Farmers will get the seed of Kufri Jamunia from the seeders of Meerut and Kufri Farm.
This potato contains starch, vitamin A and D, protein and anthocyanin, which are beneficial for health. A potato tuber contains 75-80 percent water, 16.20 percent carbohydrates, 2.5 to 3 percent protein, 0.6 percent fiber, 0.1 percent fat and one percent minerals. This new purple variety of potato is full of anthocyanin.
Due to this, it increases disease resistance. This variety has already received approval from the Central Agricultural Research Council and the Union Agriculture Ministry.
